Strengthening Families and Communities: Preventing and Addressing Trauma

The Strengthening Families training is a 6-hour program designed for everyone who works with parents, children, or families in a professional or volunteer role. This interactive program introduces important topics, including Strengthening Families Framework; Adverse Childhood Experiences; and Positive Childhood Experiences. For each topic, presenters will provide an overview of the research behind it, the topic itself, and most importantly, participants will be given an opportunity to reflect on the topics relevant to their work with families. Participants will leave the training with ideas about how this information can affect the way they approach their work to improve the lives of those they serve.

Contact Hours/CEUs-Participants will be offered Contact Hours/CEUs at no charge to participants! 5.25 Contact Hours/.525 CEUs will be awarded in Social Work, Counseling, Education, Juvenile Parole Officers, and Mental Health.
*Please note one CEU is defined as ten contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education program under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction. For this training, participants will be awarded 5.25 Contact Hours, the equivalent of .525 CEUs.
